Book Activities Online NowZion means “place of peace and relaxation" in Hebrew. Since the Anasazi lived here 2,000 years ago, it has been that and much more. Multi-colored mountains, heart-stopping views and an abundance of spectacular trails draw more than two million visitors from all over the world each year. Zion’s 229 square miles is home to nearly 100 species of land animals, 271 species of birds and nearly 800 species of plants.
Established in 1909 as Mukuntuweap National Monument, the park was expanded in 1919 as Zion National Park. In 1937, Kolob Canyons was added, raising the peak elevation to more than 8,700 feet.
Just an hour from Red Mountain Resort, Zion is open year-round. We offer a variety of group adventure trips to the park as well as customized adventures.
