Our skin, as our largest organ, is the most powerful messenger of our overall state of wellness. What shows up on our skin is directly correlated to how our bodies are functioning beneath it.

For many of us, when we see blemishes, rashes, wrinkles, and age spots, we think our skin is failing us – that our skin is the enemy, sabotaging our beauty, our vitality, and our ability to show up with confidence and be comfortable with who we are. 

But here’s the thing: those blemishes, rashes, and lesions on your skin are in fact incredibly powerful messages that your skin is sending you. In many cases, they are aren’t just messages but warnings that your current state of health is suffering. Your body is not at its optimal level to be able to handle the stress, both external and internal, being put upon it.

Now you may be thinking, wait a minute! I exercise daily, I eat my vegetables, and I wear sunscreen, so what is she talking about? Believe me, I get it. I was right there with you. As a dermatologist, I was doing all the things I thought were healthy: diligently wearing my sunscreen, seeking shade, wearing a hat and sunglasses, and running ultramarathons at the time I was diagnosed with melanoma. 

Imagine – I’m a skin cancer and melanoma specialist, and I became my own worst nightmare when I found that dark spot on my arm. Skin cancer was my wake-up call. It made me stop and take notice, and it’s only when we take notice that we can take action. 

All of those strategies are important and an integral part of healthful living, but they’re only addressing our skin on the surface and in the moment of being outdoors. It’s what’s happening beneath the surface 24/7/365 that provides us with the greatest protection. It fills our well full of vitality, energy, and the reserves to handle whatever curveballs life throws at us, including those strong UV rays and air pollution, not to mention day-to-day stresses of work, family, and a never-ending list of obligations.

This is why I create an interactive and engaging experience in my presentations. I combine cognitive science-based techniques with dermatologic principles to help you optimize your body’s ability to handle the daily internal and external challenges it faces, from environmental factors to the toxins in your personal life. 

I share how to get from insecurity and exhaustion to falling in love with your skin, your body, and your life by shedding light on key foundational strategies. You can achieve radiant, glowing skin, increase your energy, lose weight, boost your libido, improve your stress resilience, and live life as the best version of yourself.

But skincare isn’t just about the products you use. In fact, that’s the smallest part of the equation. It’s about YOU. It’s about who you are on the inside, who then shows up on the outside. It’s about feeling comfortable in your skin and strong in your body. It’s about resilience, confidence, and calm. It’s about your overall wellbeing and the inner beauty that makes you glow. Which begs the question: Are you ready to get your glow on? To live your life full out, on your terms?

For these presentations, I am calling everyone who wants to have fearless conversations on the things we think about most and talk about least. It’s about addressing the skin you’re in – literally and figuratively – to achieve greater physical, mental, and spiritual resilience so you can be your best in all areas of your life.
