A Few of Our Favorites
Red Mountain has been in southern Utah for over 20 years, which has given us plenty of time to gather a few "must-do's". Explore this list of our best resort experiences as complied by guests, staff, and locals.
In honor of Red Mountain Resort’s upcoming 20th Anniversary, the newly-debuted Alpine Adventure is the perfect summertime hiking excursion. Situated in the Pine Valley Mountains in the Dixie National Forest, the lush valley sits at 6,900 feet of elevation and is surrounded by beautiful timber-covered mountain peaks reaching an elevation of over 10,000 feet. Ponderosa Pine and Oak Trees cover the area, offering ample shade to hikers and cool, crisp mountain air with a lovely fragrance of spruce and pine. In addition to its beauty, hikers can also discover the history of the area, which was first discovered by Mormon pioneers in 1855 and would later settle the area in 1859 to establish a lumber mill.
The Alpine Adventure will feature two levels of difficulty for guests to choose from: Explorer and Challenge. Both the Explorer and Challenge hikes will be offered every Tuesday starting in June and will take place from 9:00am – 3:00pm. The cost for each is $135 per person and includes lunch.
Alpine Adventure Explorer
The Explorer Level Alpine Adventure offers the perfect excursion for guests looking to have a restorative and self-paced outdoor adventure. Hikers will explore the Pine Valley Reservoir and hike lakeside along the valley floor. The 3-mile hike will include both paved trails and well-maintained dirt trails; however, the hike can also accommodate those requiring pavement walking only. Hikers will have ample time to photograph and enjoy interpretative explanations from the guides or simply relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The excursion also includes a healthy, gourmet packed lunch at the Santa Clara Creek. Hikers will also have access to restrooms.
Alpine Adventure Challenge
The Challenge Level Alpine Adventure is a great choice for those looking for a physical challenge paired with outdoor adventure. The 3.2-mile hike (6.4 miles round trip) will take guests to the top of the Pine Valley 10,300-foot summit, where hikers will be rewarded with breathtaking vistas of the entire area, including Zion National Park and the Grand Staircase.

Fitness Class: Drums Alive®
This unforgettable fitness class has a history that originated out of necessity. Carrie Ekins, the originator of the program, suffered a devastating hip injury. To keep moving and have fun, she began to drum on boxes, and unexpectedly experienced the euphoria that drumming produces, both aerobically and mentally.
Not only will you have a blast in our Drums Alive® class, the rhythmic patterns helps the brain generate enhanced Alpha waves that synchronize the hemispheres, improving your

The Labyrinth at Red Mountain
A group of our hiking guides volunteered to place each stone that lines the path of the spiral. The stones are Arizona River rock, smoothed by eons of running water. The stones represent water and its cleansing energy. The spiral shape of the labyrinth is a powerful symbol in Native American culture, symbolizing evolution, the never-ending cycle of growth, change, and eternal life.
Visit the Welcome Pavilion to start your journey down the Inspiration Trail that leads to the Labyrinth.
