Director of Spa and Wellness
A native of South Africa, Myrna’s hospitality career began in developing a five-star safari lodge in southwestern Zambia and helping to set up a Wild Life Protection Unit to stabilize the wildlife in the area. In 1995, she was the opening Spa Director at Merv Griffin’s Givenchy Hotel and Spa in Palm Springs, California. Myrna served in the same capacity at the five-star La Quinta Resort & Spa before moving to Las Vegas to open the Spa and Fitness Center at the prestigious Stirling Club. She came to Red Mountain Resort in 2003 as Spa Director and in 2006 took on the leadership of Health & Fitness departments as well as the Sagestone Spa & Salon.
Myrna was trained in spa services in the U.S. and France and is listed in the Who’s Who of Professional Management.
Spa Services Supervisor
Marci Howard-May has been a nationally certified massage therapist since 1997. She graduated from East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon. She began working as a massage therapist in Park City, Utah while completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science at the University of Utah in 2000. She then divided time between working at a day spa in Salt Lake expanding her spa treatment experience and working in Cardiac Rehabilitation at the University of Utah Hospital. Marci then managed the Preventive Cardiology Clinic for the university hospital for a few years. She returned to bodywork at Tamarack Resort and Spa Del Sol in McCall, Idaho. Marci has relocated to St. George, Utah and is now the supervisor of spa services for Sagestone Spa & Salon.
Dr. Brad Crump, D.C.
Health Services Manager
Brad has been practicing Chiropractic medicine since 1994 and has established successful practices in both California and Utah. He has been with Red Mountain Resort since 1999, overseeing the Health Services department and developing and implementing programs such as Chiropractic care, bone density testing, cholesterol testing, anti-aging assessments and specialized exercise and nutrition testing. He is also an Am I Hungry™ licensed facilitator.
Brad also provides weekly lectures on such topics as Seven Habits of Healthy Aging, Women's Health and Hormones, Healthy Bones and Foot Care Essentials.
Kim is an ACSM certified personal trainer and has been an A.C.E. certified group instructor since 1989. Her knowledge of fitness is deep, her enthusiasm contagious. She has studied Nia® under inventors Debbie and Carlos Rosas, and is currently a Blue Belt Nia instructor.
Certified with the A.E.A. (Aquatics Exercise Association), Kim is passionate about water fitness. “It’s the perfect medium for fitness at any level,” she says. “By using the different properties of water such as resistance, buoyancy and hydrostatic pressure, we can improve our cardiovascular systems as well as increase our strength, endurance and flexibility.”
Kim holds certifications with Reebok® Coreboard, Spinning®, Balletone®, Nia® and Poolates™.
Certified Personal Trainer
Rebecca has been a certified fitness professional since 1998. She currently holds certifications through ACE cPT, ACSM cPT, AFAA, AEA, Nia® Technique Blue Belt, Spinning, Balletone®, Reebok® Coreboard, Yoga-Fit, Poolates™, Drums Alive and Power Pilates. She has been a Trainer and Fitness Instructor at Red Mountain Resort for 11 years. Rebecca believes that fitness training should be systemic, incorporating the whole body rather than isolating muscle groups.
Also certified in Kundalini yoga, Rebecca believes in strengthening yourself from the inside out, incorporating the mind, body, emotions and uniqueness of yourself as an individual.
Yoga Teacher, Tai Chi Instructor, Reiki Master
Bud happened to discover the mind-body-spirit connection while pursuing his passion for long-distance running. He has since dedicated his life to sharing his experiential knowledge on how to cultivate strength, centeredness and wellness through the flow and absorption of energy in the body. Bud teaches Tai Chi as well as Hatha and Kundalini yoga, practices that maintain our balance, physical stamina and clarity of thought as we age. As a Certified Reiki energy healing therapist, he infuses healing energy in his teaching of these practices.
Bud also plays and teaches the Native American flute and provides guidance to people over 50 on injury-free marathon training. He has been married for 20 years to his wife, Barbara, with whom he square dances throughout the western United States.
Shaman Spirit Guide
Betina has been facilitating the healing of individuals and groups for twenty years. She is the author of Sacred Earth, Silent Angel: The Healing Energies of Zion Canyon, founder of the Zion Canyon Native Flute School, and a Level VI Training in Power graduate. In 1993 she was drawn to study with Don Americo Yabar, a shaman from the holy mountains of Peru.
After eighteen years of study in Andean, Mayan and Native American spiritual arts, Betina has come to share her healing wisdom with the guests of Red Mountain Resort.
Yoga Teacher, RYT
In 1985, while living in Paris, France studying art and French, Enilse found Yoga, and her began her journey and appreciation for alignment, precision and emotional transformation through years of Iyengar instruction. Registered with Yoga Alliance since 2002, Enilse is also a trainer in Yoga for Scoliosis, certified as M.E.L.T. Instructor and offers workshops in Restorative Yoga. Enlise has taught yoga, fitness and body/mind classes and workshops at Red Mountain since 2004.
Certified Pilates Instructor
Stephanie began her training in the Pilates method over a decade ago in an attempt to heal her left shoulder after a car accident. Pilates was the only therapy she found that actually restored mobility and eliminated her chronic pain. With the zeal of someone who wants to share something amazing, she threw herself into learning all she could about classical Pilates. After navigating through two other schools of training, she decided that the Harvard of Pilates schools was Power Pilates and has completed her last certification with this New York-based school. She has been teaching for over 10 years and brings an enthusiasm to the work that blends well with the emphasis she has decided to place on teaching older adults.
IAN PHILLIP WHITE
Yoga Teacher, BSc, MH, MI, E-RYT 500
Ian began his yoga practice in the 1980s because he was suffering from scoliosis and daily back pain. At the time he was being treated by the head of the British School of Osteopathy three times per week. Even after the first yoga experience Ian felt relief from this constant pain. He began teaching Hatha Yoga in 1996, and is a Certified Sivananda Yoga Instructor. He is registered at the highest level with the Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500. He specializes in safely taking people from inflexibility and pain all the way through to the strongest vinyasa (flow) practices. His philosophy is to use the tools of yoga to assist each individual to let go of pain and transform their bodies and minds to their highest potential.
Dr. Jared Taylor has been practicing acupuncture for over a decade, after specializing in acupuncture at Parker University Chiropractic School in Dallas Texas. He's now returned to his hometown of St. George Utah and is excited to be part of the Red Mountain team. He is considered by many of his patients to be intuitive and a great practitioner.
